Why engraved rather than printed
Laser engraving cuts into the acrylic itself. The mark is part of the panel, so it cannot peel, scratch off or fade under UV the way vinyl lettering and printed film eventually do. The cutting process also flame-polishes the edges, which is why a laser-cut panel has clear, smooth sides rather than the cloudy sawn edge you get from a mechanical cut.
